About Us

Liveable Moonee Valley is a diverse and inclusive community group formed in response to proposed planning changes announced by the Allan Government. Our working committee is made up of residents united by a shared commitment to ensuring sustainable, thoughtful, and community-focused development in Moonee Valley.

We are deeply concerned about the implications of the government’s proposals to introduce Activity Centres and Catchment Areas. Specifically, we have identified several critical issues:

  • Affordable Housing: The lack of clear definitions and detailed implementation plans for affordable housing.

  • Infrastructure Funding: Insufficient funding allocated to support necessary infrastructure improvements.

  • Community Engagement: Minimal consultation with the community regarding the scope and impact of these significant changes.

  • Catchment Areas: A lack of transparency and detail surrounding the definition and application of Catchment Areas.

While we recognize that change is inevitable, we firmly believe that any planning reforms must be guided by meaningful consultation with the community. By working together, we can ensure that Moonee Valley remains a vibrant, inclusive, and livable place for current and future generations.

At Liveable Moonee Valley, we focus on:

  • Advocating for genuine community involvement in planning decisions.

  • Ensuring transparency and accountability in government proposals.

  • Promoting sustainable development that aligns with the needs and values of Moonee Valley residents.

We invite all residents who share our vision to join us in shaping a brighter future for our community. Together, we can build a Moonee Valley that balances growth with liveability and inclusivity.
